With everything going on in the world, it's safe to say that we've all been spending a lot of time inside. With this in mind, it's important that you fill your home with things that make you happy!
With the overwhelming amount of picture perfect interior design photos on Instagram and Pinterest, we can sometimes feel pressured to pick what kind of aesthetic we like and to stick with it. From minimalism to art deco to maximalism to mid century, there's an abundance to choose from, so why put yourself in a box? I say push these pre-conceived ideas of what 'good interior design' is aside and just decorate with items that make you happy, and the aesthetic will follow.
This is the first time I've really had creative freedom to decorate an apartment and I took this job very seriously - mostly because I just love interior design but also because I knew lockdown would be a lot easier if I had Keith Haring or Slim Aarons prints to look at. Before my move to Melbourne I spent weeks on Facebook Marketplace researching furniture and I'm stoked with the pieces I found.
I hope you enjoy looking at the details of my apartment as much as I enjoyed putting it all together.
